CoVid-19 and Maplewood Rock & Gem Club
Dear friends, These are difficult times. Our meetings, shows, lapidary shop time and most other activities are cancelled - but we are not cancelled! We are still a community, we still care. Please don't hesitate to ask for help and also don't hesitate to offer help. We need to work together while being apart. Please stay safe, healthy and somewhat sane. I am thinking about all of you and can't wait to see you again, whenever that may be. Sandra |
No Shop on August 15th!
Neither James or Mike will be available to run the shop that night. Thank you for you understanding and we'll see you next week! Happy Lapidary, Maplewood. |

May General Meeting
The rock/fossil of the month for the May General meeting will feature trilobites. Lauryn M. will be the presenter. Those with last names ending in A through M are encouraged to bring a lite snack to share for our social hour. |
Volunteers Needed
Like most community organizations, Maplewood Rock and Gem Club relies on volunteers to operate. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Our mission is to foster community spirit by encouraging the exploration of lapidary arts and appreciation of the earth sciences of geology, fossils, minerals, and gem stones. Members join together to enjoy each other's company as we explore new avenues of learning through field trips, lectures, seminars, craft workshops, special shows and events. Maplewood welcomes adults, youth and junior members who actively contribute to the growth and liveliness of the group. Contact us here: http://www.maplewoodrockclub.com/calendar/volunteer O, contact any board member at one of our club general meetings (3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM) or at any Board Meeting (1st Thursday of each month except 2nd in July). |
Lynnwood Library Display
We're in the community again! Throughout the month of August, Maplewood has a display of "Washington Rocks" at the Lynnwood Library. Be sure to stop by- bring your kids, tell your friends to bring their kids, then come on by the August Sale this weekend to let us know you did! Can't make it this month? Not to worry, Maplewood is booked at local libraries and community centers through the rest of the year. The list will be posted later this month.
