Volunteers Needed

posted Mar 4, 2014, 10:13 PM by Maplewood Admin   [ updated Mar 4, 2014, 10:21 PM ]

Like most community organizations, Maplewood Rock and Gem Club relies on volunteers to operate. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Our mission is to foster community spirit by encouraging the exploration of lapidary arts and appreciation of the earth sciences of geology, fossils, minerals, and gem stones. Members join together to enjoy each other's company as we explore new avenues of learning through field trips, lectures, seminars, craft workshops, special shows and events.

Maplewood welcomes adults, youth and junior members who actively contribute to the growth and liveliness of the group.

O, contact any board member at one of our club general meetings (3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM) or at any Board Meeting (1st Thursday of each month except 2nd in July).

posted Nov 1, 2012, 11:45 AM by Maplewood Admin   [ updated Nov 1, 2012, 11:46 AM ]

Greetings, Maplewooders.  Welcome to November!  We have a few very important bits of information to pass along:

The Maplewood Rock & Gem Club Annual Fall Show is right around the corner (Nov 10-11) http://www.maplewoodrockclub.com/events/fallshow
  • There are 10 display cases left to fill!  Please call Beverly at 425-338-4184 to reserve yours.
  • We need raffle donations!  Howard says he needs at least a dozen, if not two!  Please donate an item (rocks, lapidary art, jewery, etc.) that you would really love to win.  Chances are, some, body else will, too.. as well, this raffle is a primary source of income from our fall show.  We need to keep those lights on, don't you know
  • Attention, board and committee members - the November board meeting is tonight at 7pm!  This is an important meeting, as it's the last one before both the Fall Show AND our 1st Annual Winter Bazaar. http://www.maplewoodrockclub.com/events/winterbazaar
  •  Additionally, elections are coming up, and it's getting time to start work on a rocking-good 2013.
